After Frankenstein – The Young Romantics Prize 2016
13 April, 2016 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
‘Poetry is the great adventure of the young’ (Carol Ann Duffy, Poet Laureate)
Hear the 2016 winners of one of the most exciting literary prizes for young people.
The Young Romantics Prize was launched in 2014 by Dame Carol Ann Duffy
with the Keats-Shelley Memorial Association.
On 16 June 1816, Mary Shelley conceived the idea for her extraordinary novel, Frankenstein. To celebrate the 200th anniversary of this literary milestone, the 2016 prize invites submissions of poems and short stories exploring the subject, ‘After Frankenstein’.
So pick up your pens, transport yourselves to the edge of a lake during a violent storm, and see what your imagination creates.
The performances take place on Level 5 in the Function Room at Royal Festival Hall
This event is free but ticketed.
