Blackmail: The Story of Alfred Hitchcock and Britain’s First Talkie
Fri 15 March @ 6:45 pm - 9:00 pm£3
It’s the 90th anniversary of a thriller that changed British cinema forever: “Blackmail”. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock when he was only 29 and planned as a silent movie, it was finally released as a talkie, the first from Britain. We’ll be showing this terrifying and innovative tale of deceit and murder in Depression-era London in full, with an introductory talk by our regular film historian, Will Bird.
