SCREEN84 is a brand-new initiative to provide a community-based Film Club in Islington, North London, set up by the founders of INK@84, a bookshop-cafe-bar in Highbury N5.
We’ve teamed up with two young film curators to bring low-cost films to the community screened in our small, friendly North London venue. Each week, Freddy Gelati will be programming a strand of World Cinema and Joe Ursell will be curating a range of Bookish Film Adaptations.
After raising over £5,000 on Kickstarter to fund the project, we are up and running and consistently booking sell-out shows!
For London Book and Screen Week, Joe will be showing Bright Star (dir. Jane Campion based on Andrew Motion’s biography of John Keats). Doors open at 7pm, film starts at 7:30 with a short intro from the curator. Bar closes at 10pm. Booking via website: http://www.ink84bookshop.co.uk/screen84.
