Shanghai Voices: Xiao Bai and Huang Yuning in conversation with Paul Blezard

In conjunction with London Book and Screen Week, we are delighted to welcome Xiao Bai and Huang Yuning to Piccadilly for an evening of readings and discussion hosted by Paul Blezard.

Xiao Bai (Zhang Haibo), a professional author of Shanghai Writers’ Association, took up writing in 2005. He has published two novels, Game Point and French Concession, one novella, The Agent Mr. Xu and two anthologies of essays, Erotic Hamlet and Acting vs. Peeping. French Concession has sold copyrights to US, UK, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, etc. The highly acclaimed Italian version French Concession was published in 2013 and the English version came out in July, 2015 by HarperCollins.

Huang Yuning (1975-), Editorial Director of Shanghai Translation Publishing House, Literary Translator of dozens of English titles(including works by Ian McEwan, F.Scott.Fitzgerald, Hilary Mantle, Zadie Smith, Henry James and Agatha Christie), Essayist and Literary Critic who has published six essay anthologies up till now. She has been engaged in creative writing since 2015, and has published two novellas and several stories on quality literature journals.
