World Poets Series: The Great Flight

Join us for the launch of The Big Flight, the refugee-focused issue of Modern Poetry in Translation.

The evening’s performers are Syrian poet and translator Golan Haji, civil-rights activist and writer Nasrin Parvaz and translator and poet Stephen Watts.

Hear readings of Golan’s poetry both in Arabic and in new English translations by Stephen Watts, then listen to a discussion of identity, dislocation and discrimination with Nasrin.

This event is chaired by Sasha Dugdale, editor of Modern Poetry in Translation.
